After receiving his degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point, Don served in the military as a Green Beret.

Following an honorable discharge, Don earned a Masters in Environmental Engineering from Northeastern University and completed the core curriculum for his MBA at Boston University.  Don is also Licensed Site Professional (LSP) and professional engineer in Massachusetts.  He is also a licensed construction supervisor.  

Don has over 25 years of experience in the engineering/construction field. In recent years, Don has become an authority in geothermal design and installation of many type of systems. He is a LEED accredited professional, and certified Geothermal Designer and Installer.

Bob has nearly 35 years of building construction management experience in a variety of market sectors. His depth of experience managing building projects with values up to $40M is reflected in his vast project portfolio that includes prestigious national clients including Candlewood Hotels as well as local market standouts – Harvard, Boston University and Olin College. Bob brings a wealth building industry knowledge to his leadership role.

He has personally managed projects in many market sectors with vast ranges of project scope and complexity. His solid reputation and strong relationships in the commercial and federal construction industry has allowed Alares Construction Inc. to successfully achieve a highly respected position among our clients.

Bob also manages our firm’s quality control system. Bob is a veteran and graduate of the United Air Force Academy. He also has a master’s degree in Civil Engineering. He is a CCM and a certified owner’s construction representative.

Our CFO, Patrick Coughlin, has an undergraduate degree from Colgate University and a MBA from Boston College with a specialization in Operations Management and Organizational Development.  Pat started his construction career at LBC Construction as a project and business manager.  

Later he moved on to the Mayo Group where he worked as the Construction Operations Manager.  In this role he was responsible for the financial operation of the construction division.  He developed systems, processes and people to execute work on projects ranging from a few thousand dollars to over six million. Pat’s work at Alares Construction Inc. includes oversight of all accounting, human resource, marketing, risk management and compliance issues.
